Message from the President
As the 12th representative of GETA (Global English Teachers Association), I am very pleased to have this chance to express my warmest greetings to you all GETA members. I am also very honored to be able to express my sincere respect to the former presidents and all former board members for their dedication and endeavors. For the last 23 years, GETA has been growing quite dramatically and now it is a well-known global association of ELT professionals thanks to our old and new members.
As the GETA president, I am going to focus my work on the following three points. First, I would like the GETA annual workshop more interesting to all GETA members than before. To do so, the workshop theme will be made based on the members’ real interests and concerns. The workshop speakers would be one of the best professionals in a given field. Second, annual GETA conference will focus on real immediate concerns of all field-professionals. To do so, action research performed by primary, secondary and college teachers will be asked to be presented at the conference. Third, I would work hard to make the GETA journal 'Studies in English Education' accessible to more scholars and teachers than before. To do so, the current online GETA journal system needs to be detailed with the help of online system experts and current GETA members.
To make my plans realized I need all GETA members’ vigorous participation and sincere commitment. I am full of hope and excitement to be able to work with you, GETA members. Thank you.
